Craig Scott
CEO
Craig Scott has been associated with Bion since 1993. He has held a number of senior positions from 2006 to present, including Director of Communications and Head of Business Development. As of June 2024, he joined Bion’s Board of Directors and was named Interim CEO. Craig studied business and communications at Montana State and Denver-Metro Universities.
Jeremy Rowland
COO, SVP Renewables
Jeremy Rowland joined Bion in 2006. He is responsible for a wide range of policy, regulatory, and academic issues related to Bion’s business and product opportunties. Prior to joining Bion, he worked for URS Corporation, a major national engineering and consulting firm, for 16 years, where he developed and lead URS’s efforts in the renewable energy marketplace. Mr. Rowland earned his MS in Environmental Science in 1987 from Southern Illinois University, School of Agriculture Science.
Mike O'Brien
Chief Marketing Officer
Mike has held positions of increasing responsibility in the construction industry for his entire career, with a focus on infrastructure projects. He was recently head of business development for Dutchland, LLC, a manufacturer of anaerobic digesters, and he maintains a wide network in the biogas/RNG industry. Mike received a Bachelors of Business Administration from Penn State University.
Steve Pagano
Chief Technology Officer
Steve Pagano joined Bion in 1993 as its operations engineer. Since then, he has been involved in or led all three generations of Bion’s technology R&D and system development, from engineering and oversight to construction, startup, and operations. Mr. Pagano received his M.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of Florida in 1991. Before joining Bion, he was a Materials Engineer with NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center.
Josh Rapport
Chief Engineer
Josh Rapport, MS, PhD, is Bion’s consulting Chief Engineer. He brings over 20 years’ experience in researching, designing, building and operating anaerobic digesters for heat, power, and renewable natural gas (RNG), as well as in digestate treatment and utilization. He was VP Engineering for Brightmark, one of the largest RNG companies in the U.S. In less than four years, Brightmark launched 30 RNG projects worth over $500 million under his guidance. Prior to that, he was VP R&D for CleanWorld, where he developed novel fertilizers from digester residuals. Josh received a BA from Stanford in Biology and his MS and PhD from UC Davis in Bio and Ag Engineering.
Lee Frankel
Agronomist
Lee Frankel is one of Bion’s consulting agronomists. He has worked in agriculture his entire career, specializing in strategic planning, adaptation of technology innovations, operational improvement, import and export compliance, public relations, and government relations for the food industry. Bion first engaged Lee for his experience with organic farming while we were developing our fertilizer products. He assisted with our OMRI application and listing and worked with the trade group CERO (Coalition for Ecological Recovery in Organics), that Bion co-founded. Lee earned his BA in Economics from Stanford University and MA in Agricultural Economics from Stanford’s Food Research Institute.
